Complete Telegram Bot Setup Guide

Create Your Bot in @BotFather (10 Seconds)
Open Telegram on your phone or desktop and search for Telegram's official bot builder: @BotFather.
- Start a chat with
@BotFatherand send the command:/newbot - Enter a name for your bot (e.g. Acme Lead Alerts).
- Choose a unique username ending in
bot(e.g.@AcmeLeadAlertsBot). - BotFather will reply with your HTTP API Token (e.g.,
7192837465:AAEk...). Copy this token!
Enable Group Joining in @BotFather (Crucial Step!)
By default, Telegram disables bots from joining group chats. Turn it on in 15 seconds:
- In your chat with
@BotFather, send:/mybots - Select your bot from the list → Tap Bot Settings.
- Tap Allow Groups? → Click Turn groups join ON (or Enable).
Activate Bot in Personal Chat OR Sales Team Group Chat
Option A: Personal Phone Alerts
Search for your bot's EXACT USERNAME (e.g. @AcmeLeadAlertsBot) in Telegram → Open chat → Tap /start!
Option B: Team Group Chat Alerts
Open your Telegram Sales Group → Tap Add Member → Search for your bot's exact username (e.g. @AcmeLeadAlertsBot) → Add to Group!
Find Your Chat ID (Personal Chat vs Group Chat)
- For Personal 1-on-1 Alerts (10 Seconds): Search Telegram for
@userinfobot→ Send/start→ Copy your 9-digit Id (e.g.987654321). - For Group Chat Alerts: Add
@myidbotto your group → Send/getgroupid→ Copy negative group ID (e.g.-100192837465). - Via Telegram Web: Open web.telegram.org → Open chat → Copy number from browser URL bar.
Paste into LeadChirp Portal & Save
Go to your LeadChirp Workspace Portal (/dashboard.html), paste your Bot Token & Chat ID, and click Save Workspace Settings!
